At least evening’s Council Meeting, Council scheduled a Public Hearing for a Land Use Amendment regarding affordable housing development and they passed the 2023 Property Tax Bylaw.
- Council approved MSI funds in the amount of $105,000 to complete the Aquatic Centre roof replacement. The Aquatic Centre roof replacement was approved as part of the 2023 capital project budget for the amount of $500,000. The projected project total is $603,000.
- Council directed Administration to prepare a report regarding use of escooters and ebikes in Strathmore. The report is projected to be completed in time for the September 20, 2023 Council Meeting.
- Council gave first reading to Land Use Amendment Bylaw 23-15. The bylaw proposes to re-designate land use for future attached housing, a portion of which will be affordable housing. A public hearing will be held on June 21 at 6:00pm.
- Council amended the 2023 Operating Budget to increase the transfer to the general capital reserve by $202,100.
- Council gave second and third reading to the 2023 Property Tax Bylaw 23-16.
- Council gave first, second and third reading to the Council Procedure Bylaw 23-17.
- Councillor Montgomery gave Notice of Motion regarding an amendment to the Animal Control Bylaw 18-18 that would escalate fines for nuisance cats.
