Meeting Date: June 19, 2024. 

In attendance: Mayor Fule, Deputy Mayor Langmaid, Councillor Mitzner, Councillor Montgomery (virtual), Councillor Peterson, Councillor Wegener, Councillor Wiley (virtual). 

1. Consent Agenda 

Council adopted the following reports through the consent agenda: 

  • Regular Council Meeting Minutes – June 5, 2024  

  • Community Improvement Program (CIP) Funding Recommendations  

  • Wheatland County Recreation Cost Sharing Agreement – 2025-2028  

  • Strathmore Library Board Meeting Minutes – March 19, 2024  

  • Strathmore Library Board Meeting Minutes – April 16, 2024  

  • Strathmore Filipino Canadian Association – Annual Independence Day  

  • Valley Medical Centre – Letter of Thanks 

 2. Business 

The following points were discussed and approved by Council. 

  • Community Improvement Program (CIP) Funding Recommendations - Council approved the funding through the CIP as follows: 

  • $3,000.00 to Project H.O.P.E 

  • $5,000.00 to the Strathmore Musical Arts Society 

  • $1,500.00 to the Vault Cultural Collective Society 

  • $1,950.00 to the Wheatland Whirlers 

  • Wheatland County Recreation Cost Sharing Agreement – Council approved the 2025-2028 recreation cost sharing agreement with Wheatland County. 

  • Operating Budget Amendment – Council approved a transfer of $200,000 from the Financial Stabilization Reserve to fund operating costs incurred related to the June 2024 Calgary Water Main Break Incident. 

3. Bylaws 

  • Council adopted the Regional Emergency Management Bylaw No. 24-09
