Committee of the Whole Highlights, October 12, 2022

In attendance: Mayor Fule, Deputy Mayor Peterson, Councillor Mitzner, Councillor Montgomery, Councillor Wegener, Councillor Wiley

At last evening’s Committee of the Whole Meeting, Council received a report about the Garden Suites survey and they were able to congratulate Strathmore Communities in Bloom for their recent provincial win and score of 5 Blooms.

• Communities in Bloom was happy to report to Council that Strathmore received 5 Blooms and won the Provincial Championship from the judging that took place in August. Strathmore Communities in Bloom extended thanks to Town of Strathmore Council, staff and volunteers for their efforts this year.
• Administration presented overview of updates to the Memorial Bench/Tree Purchasing Policy.
• Development Services presented a report to Council regarding the public engagement survey and in-person session for Garden Suites.
• Council reviewed the Development Permit Variance Request process.
• Administration presented a report about idling as it pertains to the proposed Traffic Control Bylaw #22-06.
