Funding Guidelines and Criteria
United Way Strathmore & Area Partnership is committed to support programs that demonstrate value in Strathmore & Wheatland County communities. All funded programs are expected to address a need in the community. All of United Ways funding decisions are shaped within the following guidelines:
- Applications must be submitted to fcss@strathmore.ca
- Maximum funding amount per organization is $4000
- Submission of application does not guarantee funding approval
- United Way Calgary and Area funding application and reporting requirements and stewardship practices are coordinated with other funders whenever possible – working to decrease the burden of reporting.

- When campaign allows the board approves, increases are targeted to enhance community impact. Evidence based effectiveness and alignment to the Community Impact Theory of Change is required of all programs receiving United Way funding Working within the guidelines identified above,
United Way Calgary and Areas funding decisions are based on the following criteria:
- 1. Alignment with United Way of Calgary and Area focus areas
- Addresses policy, system or institutional change
- Engages and mobilizes community
- Addresses community needs
- Apply evidence-based effectiveness
- Addresses underlying causes 7. Has community support
- Demonstrates impact
- Excellence in performance and leadership 10. Strong governance
United Way Strathmore & Area Partnership is not able to fund the following:
- Formal Education
- Hospitals
- For Profit Organizations
- Political Parties
- Religious Activities
- Capital Expenditures
- Individuals
- Deficit Funding
2020 year-end report will be required from all funded agencies by as per funding agreement.
