What You’ll Do:
Reporting to the Manager of Communications, Marketing, and Legislative Services, the Returning Officer is responsible for ensuring that the municipal election is conducted in accordance with the Local Authorities Election Act and the Town of Strathmore’s Election Bylaw. The Returning Officer is also responsible for conducting and coordinating joint elections with the Town of Strathmore schools and other elected authorities.
This role requires flexibility in both the start date of work as well as the hours of work throughout the election events, including full time hours during electoral events.

Successful applicants will demonstrate on their resume:

Understanding of the Local Authorities Election Act, the Town of Strathmore’s Election Bylaw, and the duties required of a Returning Officer

Proficiency working in Adobe PDF, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

Experience in coordinating and facilitating training for large groups (20+ people)

Previous experience interacting or working with a media team considered an asset
