What You’ll Do:

Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, the Parks Supervisor will coordinate all of the functions of the Parks Department and cemetery including, but not limited to, supervision, hiring, and managing the Parks and cemetery budget.

Successful applicants will demonstrate on their resume:

  • 5 years of related supervisory experience in skilled operations maintenance with at least 3 years at a second line supervisory/foreman level, preferably in a municipal environment
  • Must have experience operating a variety of equipment and hand tools such as tractors, skid steers, pull behind Zamboni, lawn mowers, chainsaws, backpack blowers, weed whips and other hand tools. Experience with loaders and excavators will also be considered an asset.
  • Technical diploma related to Parks, Horticulture, or equivalent
  • Standard First Aid CPR & AED Level C
  • Valid Alberta Class 3Q Driver's License and acceptable driving record
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in Capital and parks maintenance planning

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Advanced problem-solving skills
  • Clear understanding and working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety legislation
  • Knowledge of budget planning process
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adhere to deadlines
  • Ability to establish and maintain quality public relations
