Councillor Melanie Corbiell

My name is Melanie Corbiell. I am married to Justin Hardy and have three young children; Grayson, Avery and Denver.  I grew up on a farm in the County of Wheatland and graduated from Central Bow Valley.  I attended Red Deer College, University of Lethbridge and finally the University of Alberta.  I have attained a Degree in Kinesiology as well as a Diploma in Medical Transcription.

Sports and recreation have always been an important part of my life.  I played a number of sports growing up and still participate in what I can now.  I also organized intramurals at the University of Alberta while attending school.  I volunteer in my children’s classroom at school as well as manage and help with the sports they are involved in.

In October 2017, I was appointed to represent the town on the SWAT (Strathmore Wheatland Addictions Team), WADEMSA, Emergency Management Team and Audit Committee.  In April 2018, I was also appointed to the Recreation Facility Development Committee.

I ran for town council to contribute and help shape the way Strathmore grows to fulfill the quality of life that everyone expects and deserves. I love this town and want to invest my time and energy into helping make this town a better, safer place.
