Our recently completed Strathmore Municipal Building will bring all Administrative functions under one roof, providing new opportunities for collaboration across the organization.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Admin Supervisor will work as part of a team to provide optimal and efficient administrative support for the Town Office. In this role, the successful candidate will complete administrative tasks and also oversee and coordinate the functions of the administrative team in order to ensure exemplary service is provided to internal departments, and also to external customers and clients. 

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Oversee administrative functions within the Corporate Services team, including supervising the administrative clerks
  • Actively participate in the fulfillment of the administrative team’s responsibilities
  • Draft and prepare correspondence and communications, reports and presentations for the Finance Manager, as required
  • Establish work priorities and ensure procedures are followed and deadlines are met
  • Act as a key resource for personnel who require guidance on administrative processes
  • Ensure that new and existing operational systems are implemented and run in a comprehensive, reliable and efficient manner.  This may include mail systems, couriers, petty cash processing and reconciliation, office supply ordering, phone and communication systems
  • Coordinate the administrative functions of the Strathmore Cemetery and maintain the cemetery database
  • Plan and coordinate events for the organization’s employees from the initial stages to completion
  • Switchboard operation
  • Daily cash receipting and initial reconciliations

Required Education & Experience:

  • Post secondary degree or diploma in accounting, office administration, or a related field with minimum three (3) years in an administrative role
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with Financial Software, Great Plains, Diamond (Central Square), MS Dynamics, M-Files
  • Experience managing or coordinating an office environment and some experience providing support to a Manager is an asset
  • Supervisory experience and training are an asset
  • Consent to disclosure of a Criminal Record Check and provision of a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract


The work week is Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week
