The Strathmore Welcoming Initiative aims to build connectedness between residents, community services, and organizations to build a welcoming and diverse community for all, including newcomers. Activities over the next two years will include multi-cultural events, community programming, and opportunities to learn more about Strathmore’s diverse culture.
The Strathmore Welcoming Initiative is community-led, and we’re still working with residents and organizations to plan events, programming, and opportunities to meet the needs of our community. If you’re interested in being involved, you can:
- Join the Town of Strathmore’s Culture and Wellbeing Task Force to help guide the community-led project – learn more here.
- Contact the Strathmore FCSS department to learn more about volunteer opportunities and other ways to get involved – call us at 403-934-9090
A multi-cultural celebration will be held on September 16, 2023, at the Kinsmen Park in Strathmore from 11am to 3pm. The free family friendly event will host a cultural market, live entertainment, interactive activities, and food trucks that will represent the diversity of Strathmore.
