There is a lot of community interest in the Strathmore Solar Project. Capital Power, an Alberta-based power producer, is progressing with the construction of the project - with an anticipated start date in April 2021. The Alberta Utilities Commission has approved the 40.5 megawatt project.
Capital Power is creating a project page that will provide additional information. They've also released a project newsletter with exciting details about the Strathmore Solar Project.
This is a large project for our community and Mayor Pat Fule believes it's an important opportunity, "We’ve attracted a major investment for the community that will offer up to 300 jobs during construction. This project an exciting step in growing our economy."
