Dementia Friendly Event

Town of Strathmore, Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) will be implementing Dementia-Friendly Service Train-the-Trainer sessions to front line workers, service providers, and businesses to create dementia-friendly spaces and supports throughout Wheatland County. Additionally, a speaker series highlighting speakers from local service providers to share information on dementia along with supporting the local library in becoming dementia-friendly will be offered.

Senior's Brain Health

January 23, 2023, 1:30 - 3:30pm at the Strathmore Municipal Library.

Joanne Simpson with AHS will be hosting a talk on Senior's Brain Health.

The event will offer information on healthy aging and ways that older adults can incorporate healthy habits into their life.

Indigenous Knowledge about Aging and Dementia

November 7, 2022 - 1:30pm – 3:30pm at the Strathmore Municipal Library Rescheduled: February 27, 2023 1:30 - 3:30pm

Two Elders from Siksika Nation will be sharing Indigenous understandings of the circle of life, aging and dementia. All are welcome to come and share a cup of tea, learn about Indigenous traditions, and gain new perspectives of aging. This event is free to attend and does not require registration.
