  • Council began with a Special Council Meeting where they allocated funds to complete a cost shared joint servicing study with Wheatland County.  A joint servicing study presents the opportunity to evaluate optimal integrated system configurations, evaluate compatible water distribution and wastewater collection systems. This ensures water supply security and growth in both communities.
  • At the Committee of the Whole Meeting Council received an education session regarding the Municipal Development Plan. The session increased Council’s understanding on the MDP contents and process.  When the draft MDP is ready in the new year administration will initiate public, stakeholder, and Council engagement again.
    • Strathmore is projected to grow by 9,500 people in the next 25 years. To accommodate this growth in the Town, the new Municipal Development Plan will identify the key areas for new development to occur and set out guidelines for protecting the rural and urban character, economic opportunities, and community diversity that make Strathmore a great place to live, work, and play.
