In attendance: Mayor Fule, Councillor Wegener, Councillor Wiley, Councillor Peterson, Councillor Montgomery, Councillor Mitzner, Councillor Langmaid
The Town of Strathmore Council received reports from administration and discussed bylaws and appointments:
- Council received a “Finance 101” presentation that included the Corporate Business Plan (budget) and the 2020 Financial Audit
- Administration updated Council on Town of Strathmore COVID-19 protocols
- Councillor Mitzner gave notice of motion regarding a change in Municipal Status, a report will be brought back to Council at the December 15 meeting
- Council reviewed a petition submitted by residents for road signage in their cul-de-sac. Council approved a motion to direct administration to contact the group and inform them that signage will not be erected and will advise this group of an alternate method of communication
o The petition submitted did not meet the parameters laid out by the Municipal Government Act
- A motion to appoint Councillor Montgomery to the Community Futures Board for a term of 1 year was approved
- After a short in camera session a motion to appoint Councillor Wegener and Councillor Peterson to the Wheatland Housing Management Board was approved. Councillor Mitzner was named as an alternate
- Council gave first reading of Bylaw 21-29 Council Procedure Bylaw
o Council’s Procedure Bylaw provides the public with clarity and transparency around how Council runs its meetings. Currently, there are some inconsistencies in the Town’s bylaw and some sections that need updating, including the change in Council Meeting start time.
