At last evening’s Council Meeting, Council reviewed a summary of initiatives related to their Strategic Plan and invited everyone to join them at Coffee with Council on May 12, at 9am!

  • Bird Canada Inc. presented to Council, seeking the approval of an agreement to launch a fleet of shared electric scooters in Strathmore.
  • Council reviewed the Wheatland Housing Management Body Board meeting report, the WADEMSA meeting report and the Alberta Municipal Water/Wastewater Partnership as part of their Consent Agenda.
  • Council approved the updated Wheatland Regional Emergency Management Partnership Agreement, which now includes Chestermere.
  • Council reviewed the Corporate Quarterly Report for Quarter Four of 2022. The report contains a progress summary of initiative related to Council’s Strategic Plan and a financial summary.
  • Council agreed to enter into a payment arrangement agreement with the RCMP for the RCMP retro payment. Additionally Council approved a letter MP Shields regarding the RCMP retro payment and a resolution to the Federation of Canadian Municipalities.
  • Council gave First Reading the 2023 Property Tax Rate Bylaw, 23-16. They also requested that Administration to prepare a report with consideration for the use of the $200,000 increase in municipal property tax revenue, resulting from a decrease in the anticipated education requisition.
  • Council gave second and third reading to Bylaw 23-09, a Bylaw to repeal Borrowing Bylaw 22-07.
  • Councillor Montgomery invited the community to attend Coffee with Council on May 12, at 9:00 A.M.
  • Administration gave a brief update regarding the Strathpoint development construction.
