Council Meeting Highlights January 12, 2022

In attendance: Mayor Fule, Deputy Mayor Montgomery, Councillor Langmaid, Councillor Mitzner, Councillor Peterson, Councillor Wegener, Councillor Wiley

In their first meeting of 2022 Council received a presentation and passed several motions.

  • Administration presented Council with options regarding the intersection of Lakeside Blvd and Archie Klaiber Trail. Due to the planned Strath Point Development, a Transportation Impact Assessment revealed the current four-way stop will not be suitable to accommodate the expected increase in traffic. Council voted to proceed with a signalized design.
  • Council voted to reschedule the January 19 and 26 Council Meetings to be held virtually. The motion passed.
  • Council reviewed the Wheatland Housing Management Body Building Committee Meeting Minutes from the December 13, 2021 meeting.
  • Council gave first reading to Bylaw 21-21, being bylaw for the purpose of adopting the Legacy Farms Area Structure Plan. Council also scheduled a virtual public hearing for this bylaw, to be held on February 16, 2022 at 6:00pm.
