At last evening’s Council Meeting, Council proclaimed April 24 - 30, 2022, as National Volunteer Appreciation Week, proclaimed May 15 - 21, 2022, as National Public Works Week and gave final reading to the Legacy Farm Area Structure Plan.

  • Mayor Fule opened tonight’s Council Meeting with a Traditional Land Acknowledgement.
  • The Wheatland and Area Hospice Society presented Council with an update regarding their organization’s current initiatives, goals, and growth.
  • Council approved the Memorandum of Funding Agreement with Happy Cat Sanctuary.
  • Council approved an agreement between the Town of Strathmore and the Strathmore & District Agricultural Society in the amount of $25,750.00 for a three-year term.
  • Council proclaimed April 24 - 30, 2022, as National Volunteer Appreciation Week in the Town of Strathmore.
  • Council proclaimed May 15 - 21, 2022, as National Public Works Week in the Town of Strathmore.
  • Council adopted the amended Policy 6104, Municipal Right-of-Way Works and Excavation. Administration completed the required 3-year review of the existing policy and made amendments to make the policy current.
  • Council gave first, second and third reading to Bylaw 22-16, being a bylaw to amend the Fees Bylaw 21-30.
  • Council gave third and final reading to Bylaw 21-21, the Legacy Farm Area Structure Plan.
  • Council gave second and third reading to Bylaw 22-05, the Regional Emergency Management Bylaw.
  • Council adopted the Regional Emergency Management Agreement between the Town of Strathmore, Wheatland County, and the Villages of Hussar, Rockyford and Standard. Furthermore, Council appointed David Sturgeon as the Director of Emergency Management for the Town of Strathmore and Bas Owel as the Deputy Director.
  • Council reviewed the Wheatland Housing Management Body Board Meeting Minutes from March 10, 2022.
