Committee of the Whole Highlights, May 8, 2024

In attendance: Mayor Fule, Deputy Mayor Langmaid, Councilor Mitzner, Councilor Montgomery (virtual), Councilor Peterson, Councilor Wegener, Councilor Wiley.

At last evening’s Committee of the Whole Meeting, Council was presented the two Awards of Excellence the Town received during last months Economic Developers Alberta EDA Xperience 2024 Leaders’ Summit and Conference.

Community Award for Regional Collaboration and Partnership Project
- Small Community/Region: Town of Strathmore - Lead by Example Powwow
2024 Economic Developer of the Year
- Angela Groeneveld, Senior Manager, Economic Development

Council then reviewed items presented by administration:

Administration presented Cemetery Bylaw No.23-31 for discussion to the Council. This bylaw will provide clear direction for clients, visitors, contractors, and administrators of the cemetery.
Council reviewed the Garden and Garage Suites and recommended that the Garage and Garden Suite Bylaw be brought to a future Regular Council Meeting for consideration.
