2019 Citizen Satisfaction Survey

Our town’s motto is truer than ever thanks to the 2019 Citizen Satisfaction Survey. 98% of respondents to the 2019 Citizen Satisfaction Survey rate our quality of life as good or very good.

This past fall we sent 2,000 Strathmore households an invitation to complete this survey.  The survey was designed to provide the Mayor, Council, and Administration with feedback on current services, as well as to gauge preferences for how tax revenue is budgeted.

Thanks to the results of hundreds of your friends and neighbors, our survey has provided high quality data that is being used to guide our programs and services. Results in 2019 are very positive, and celebrate many of the Town services that contribute to our high quality of life.

The Town of Strathmore is a responsible steward of your property tax dollars. A large majority of respondents in our Citizen Satisfaction Survey indicated that they received good value for their tax dollars. We also heard from residents about where we can improve our services and policies. Your ongoing feedback is vital to the successful evolution of our operations.

Community engagement is a priority for the Town of Strathmore. Throughout the year we welcome feedback through meetings with residents and business owners, newsletters, social media, and more. Our Citizen Satisfaction Survey provided another forum for community feedback, and offers valuable data to help guide our operations.

Here are some highlights:

  • 98% of respondents describe our quality of life as good or very good
  • Quality of life has improved for almost half of our community. Only 7% report that it has declined.
  • What does our community like best about Strathmore? For 60% it’s our small-town atmosphere, and for another quarter it’s our town’s friendly, helpful residents.
  • Three quarters of respondents believe they receive good value for their tax dollars.
  • No single issue facing our community stood out for residents, but the top three are property taxes (17%), new/additional recreation facilities (14%), and community safety (13%).
  • What do our residents love about the services we provide? Satisfaction is highest for curbside garbage collection (84%), fire department (82%), and parks + pathways (80%).
