Term Watch Clerk

We are looking for an organized, well rounded individual to become part of the RCMP Administrative Support Team. Reporting to the RCMP Office Manager, the term full time role of Watch Clerk will have comprehensive knowledge and understanding of RCMP databases, policies and procedures. The successful candidate must be able to multi-task, work under pressure, meet time sensitive deadlines, adapt and learn quickly in a constantly changing, fast paced police environment. Attention to detail is critical, must possess strong computer skills and ability to make numerous data entries with a high degree of accuracy and speed are essential.

This individual will be a self starter who requires minimal supervision and have the ability to provide frontline support to police officers. Excellent written and oral communication is a benefit, along with strong interpersonal skills including diplomacy and courtesy. This individual will have the ability to deal with confidential and sensitive issues in a discreet manner and may be exposed to extremely graphic and disturbing information and visual materials.

Duties include but not limited to:
• Create and distribute operational files on investigations which members are currently dealing with when required, including the preparation of court packages.
• Provide clerical support duties to include queries on all computerized data systems.
• Preparing Information, document found property, filing, faxing, photo-copying, scanning documents, monitor and disperse incoming faxes and emails from outside agencies.
• Communicate with co-workers and associates in a respectful, friendly, courteous and professional manner.
• Assist with dispatching police to calls for service and ensuring officer safety by querying police databases.
• Other duties as delegated by the Office Manager and/or NCO i/c.

Essential Qualifications The successful candidate will have a Grade 12 Diploma. Post-secondary education/certificate in Emergency Communications and response; or high school diploma with a minimum one (1) years’ experience in a Police environment. Thorough knowledge of all RCMP data and operating systems and mandatory completion of PROS End User and IM Course, CPIC, JOIN and E-Collision. Ability to obtain and maintain a RCMP Enhanced Reliability Security Clearance.

Hours of Work 35 hour work week; Shiftwork is mandatory which will include: Stat holidays, weekends, nightshift and dayshift.
