Recreation Facility Administrative Assistant

The Town of Strathmore is a vibrant and progressive community of 13,000 people, located on the Trans-Canada highway 40 km East of Calgary. We are looking for a proficient, customer service oriented individual to become part of the Family Centre Arena Team as the Administrative Assistant, reporting to the Family Centre Facility Manager. This individual will have strong communication/interpersonal skills, extremely proficient with Microsoft Office programs and able to complete clerical duties including but not limited to filing, answering phones, process payments, update schedules and assist with bookings in a high paced environment.
Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Manage a client (user group) centered business, requiring superior customer service and positive representation internally and externally.
• Assist with facility bookings including Civic Centre rentals, ice and pad scheduling and general rental agreements for both facilities.
• Ensure proper deposits are obtained from clients in accordance with Town policies. Invoice and collect all monies in accordance with the rental contract and Town policies.
• Required to communicate tactfully and effectively with the public and other staff.
• Assist the FC Manager and CC Programmer to work cooperatively and collaboratively with arena and Civic Centre user groups to ensure all rental schedules are one in a timely fashion.
Preferred Qualifications: The qualified individual will have Grade 12 or equivalent. They must have exceptional customer service and public relations skills. Be able provide a Clean RCMP records check. The following would be an asset: Class - Facility Booking software.
This positions requires the individual to work 40hrs/week including weekends and evenings and shift changes.
